Site visit

A first meeting to understand your project’s opportunities and potential

If you’re renovating, extending, upgrading or building new, start with a Site Visit. It’s the fastest way to understand your site’s potential and constraints—and to uncover opportunities a builder may miss.

What is a site visit?

You may have a new site and be unsure about how to begin the design and build process, or you may have an existing house and face a similar issue. Questions you might be asking yourself are:

  • Should I use an architect, draughtsperson or builder?

  • Should I buy this site? (If you don’t already own it.)

  • Are there major issues with my existing house or is it too small a project to involve an architect?

The design and build process is complex, time-consuming and one of the largest financial decisions you are likely to make. Choosing to work with an architect is one question, as is the choice of who you might work with. You need to find out whether they will be a good fit and how they communicate to you, as a client, as well as builders.

For all these reasons a Site Visit can be the best first step, as it’s a valuable opportunity to have a general chat about your goals and aspirations. For an existing house you can describe the major problems you need to fix or additional accommodation you would like to achieve.

We have a strong focus on communication and sustainability. A discussion about how your site and/or house will work in the different seasons are best assessed initially with a site visit.

Who is it for?

We offer a one-hour Site Visit for projects based in South East Queensland. This is a valuable step if you’re:

  • Considering a renovation or extension

  • Seeking a second opinion or early input

  • Looking to upgrade key areas like kitchens, bathrooms or living spaces

  • Interested in professional design services but not sure if it’s the right fit

Please note, a small fee of $350 applies in the Brisbane region.
