Architecture at its inspirational best is a thing of joy and dreams, whatever the budget. At Tim Bennetton Architects we work in an intimate, responsive environment that collectively values good design, simplicity and positive relationships.
To realise a project you need to deal with the gritty reality of budgets, regulations, approvals and construction. We work to ensure that the joy remains through the ups and downs of our projects – from the initial meeting through to completion. This is the benefit of working with an experienced architectural practice that is small enough to be highly responsive, and committed to good design.
We love doing houses and additions to houses. We maintain that good design can be applied across different scales and all shapes and sizes. To ensure the external areas relate closely to and complement the architecture we also enjoy designing the gardens within and around our houses. We work closely with selected landscape contractors to implement these designs.
There are multiple relationships and complexities involved in all projects, whatever the size of the budget and scale: the relationship of the design to the site; the client to the architect and builder; the relationship between material choices and a sustainable collective future. Despite these complexities, we offer a service that provides excellent design as well as experience in transforming that vision into reality. No matter how complicated it gets, it is still a matter of designing in accordance with the client's brief, desires and budget to the achieve the best results.

Tim Bennetton completed an honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering at Melbourne University, worked for a while upon graduation and finally came to Queensland to complete a first class honours degree in Architecture. He worked on Queensland's Sunshine Coast with Gabriel Poole for many years and eventually ran Gabriel's office before starting his own studio, based in Brisbane.
Working with Tim in the studio are an architectural staff of three – Daniel Jury and David Fermer together with final year student architect Mitchell Bradford.
Tim Bennetton Architects continue to collaborate closely on many projects with Gabriel and Elizabeth Poole. Tim and Gabriel are both directors of the design firm behind the prefabricated and modular buildings known as 'Takeaways'. These are built by Gateway Constructions based in Cairns with a second factory in South East Queensland.
We are based in West End, Brisbane and we value our links to this diverse community. A lot of our projects are based around our local area, greater Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Despite our city location, we also enjoy working in regional areas. Currently we are engaged in projects as far apart as the Torres Strait and Melbourne.
